I guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks, as I took a rather circuitous path to where I am now. It was one that didn't have me starting as an artist but rather marketing & development, television advertising sales, public relations, photographer and social media manager"ing". But with this, my final destination, I have landed in my happy place.

 

I grew up with a beloved dog, several cats, a guinea pig, and a hunter jumper thoroughbred. Along the way I also saved numerous wildlife fauna that staggered through my yard in need of assistance. My lifelong obsession and deep abiding love of all creatures great and small has brought me full circle to where I sit on my computer typing up my bio, today. 

 

An avid equestrienne and constant dog owner all my life - I have done the next best thing to owning a petting zoo...I capture them on the page.

I'm in my 50's now, but in my early adulthood, I was a photographer. I think perhaps it's "the eye" that has come in handy in seeing the extraordinary explosion of colors every animal possesses. If you look closely at a brown dog, he's not really just brown. He's maybe mahogany with ambers, purples, pinks, blacks, even greens in his delicious coat.

The textures and glorious details in all of Mother Nature's children are truly awe inspiring and I consider it a privilege to be able to capture each and every one.

I'm married to my college sweetheart and we are parents to three terrific kids who have grown and flown the nest.

 

I strive to achieve highly detailed, realistic portraits and it brings me such joy presenting you with the finished product of your much adored pets.

A painting, or drawing, is a very special way of capturing the memory of a beloved pet that has been an important part of your life. Whether celebrating a new puppy or the unequaled love of an older dog (horse, cat, etc.) a portrait can freeze time and be a cherished memento for years to come. A portrait has significant sentimental value and therefore makes a unique and irreplaceable gift to friends and family.
